Design offers variety. Design enthralls. Design cuts paths. Design represents quality. In the Museum for Egyptian Art (Staatliches Museum Ägyptischer Kunst), a prominent, attractive new building in the heart of Munich’s art zone, Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) has found a unique venue for its special exhibition titled “mcbw moments – thinking spaces for design.”

Designed by German and international exhibitors, the special exhibition addresses not only professionals but also all those interested in design who wish to learn more about its processes, developments, innovative ideas and how they are implemented, all in a peaceful ambiance.

“mcbw moments – thinking spaces for design” offers participants a unique opportunity to meet designers and businesspeople with an affinity for design – not in a sterile environment but surrounded by lounge music at the espresso bar, while participating in motivating discussions in the design lounge or while watching any of the many design films. The venue is a highlight for fans of architecture – the museum’s attractive new home can be visited before its official inauguration in 2013.

The international exhibitors include delegations from South Africa, the
Netherlands and Japan. Internationally coveted light designers will stage their creative products. Newcomers will demonstrate what product development is all about. In addition, all attendees will be welcome to participate in any of the workshops. Besides several award ceremonies there will be exciting presentations and the inauguration of an exhibition hosted by the world famous Bavarian actress Marianne Sägebrecht.

The following exhibitors will make presentations on a variety of design themes in the 1800 square meter underground venue, from Upcycling Design “Zu schön um Müll zu sein” to Universal Train, Lichtimpressionen and Efficient Water Design:

With generous space and an unconventional design, the museum offers ample room for the special exhibition on design as well as for inspiring talks, the exchange of ideas and information and for interacting. “mcbw moments – thinking spaces for design” is the perfect location to experience design in all its variety.
