In the Munich district of Maxvorstatt, the Werkstatt Thomas Schmitter has been developing furniture and furnishing entire rooms since 1979. Using selected woods that have been matured over many years, the workshop creates sophisticated, valuable furniture and furnishings with clear, authentic designs. Modern in its aesthetic language or based on the historical model of a room, projects are realised that react sensitively to spatial conditions in a unique way. Free of fashionable excitement and sometimes almost imperceptibly, desired functions are integrated into existing architecture and spaces are created that offer new living space.’
