Cosentino
A sense for the future
For over forty years, this Spanish family business has continuously reinvented itself. Today, the Cosentino Group operates worldwide, specialising in high-quality surfaces for design and architecture. Beyond functionality, the company champions sustainability and dialogue with creative minds—literally shaping the future of design.
It began modestly when Eduardo Martínez Cosentino and Eduarda Justo started processing and trading marble in a small town in southern Spain, laying the foundation for today's international Cosentino Group. Subsequent generations distinguished themselves through entrepreneurial vision, focusing on technical innovation and developing new materials. Today, the portfolio extends beyond natural stone slabs to include brands such as Silestone, Dekton, and the forthcoming Éclos. These products elevate kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, and outdoor spaces, earning recognition from designers, architects, and discerning clients alike. Cosentino's success lies in harmonising functionality with sustainability, creating expansive possibilities for creative application.
Innovative products for the design sector
With Silestone, a new type of surface made from minerals and pigments, Cosentino introduced something almost revolutionary to kitchen design in 1991: colIn 1991, Cosentino introduced something revolutionary to kitchen design with Silestone: color. This innovative surface, crafted from minerals and pigments, has since offered remarkable freedom in color and design across kitchens, bathrooms, and furniture. Large-format slabs (up to 325 x 158 cm) enable precise, seamless installations. Embodying sustainability, the composite material incorporates at least 20 per cent recycled content and maintains a reduced quartz content of less than 10 per cent, ensuring resource-efficient manufacturing. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use—from countertops, furniture, and walls to floors and facades. This extremely versatile material can be used to create a consistent design language in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
The material trends of the future
Cosentino has observed three clear trends: First, natural, mineral aesthetics with depth and haptic quality. Second, holistic material concepts in which a product is used across multiple applications. And third, material innovation in the context of sustainability, for example through new compositions, recycled content, or improved occupational safety—without compromising on design.
Close to customers, architecture, and design
Dialogue lies at the heart of Cosentino’s approach, with customer and user feedback shaping material development, color palettes, and surface design. “Our products are often created in close collaboration with renowned designers,” the company notes. “Claudia Afshar shaped the Ukiyo groove structure, Daniel Germani designed the Dekton Pietra Edition, and Formafantasma conceived the first Silestone XM collections.”
In addition to targeted contact with selected creative professionals, the company also operates so-called “Cosentino Cities” in international design metropolises – including in the heart of Munich. Unlike traditional showrooms, these are intended as inspiring workspaces and meeting places. They are specially designed for architects and designers as well as their customers and offer sample applications, material libraries, digital tools, event spaces, and consulting services. The aim is to support creative processes—from the initial design to the final implementation.
More support from C·TOP Design
Under the C·TOP banner, Cosentino has assembled a comprehensive support ecosystem for design professionals that connects, inspires, and facilitates project implementation. Open to professionals in design, architecture, and interior design, the program provides access to advanced digital tools—including visualizers, 3D modeling, BIM files, and HD textures—that streamline project planning.
Samples arrive within 48 hours, while participants enjoy preferential product rates, incentives, discounts, project bonuses, and personalized consultation with Cosentino specialists. The program grants access to exclusive events and networking opportunities at Cosentino City locations worldwide, and offers creatives enhanced visibility through project showcases on Cosentino platforms.
Having a good sense of global trends in architecture and interior design is important for us and our customers—after all, it’s about shaping the future.
What are the big topics for the future?
Sustainability remains paramount at Cosentino—not as an afterthought, but as the foundation for growth. Rising demand has catalyzed CO₂-neutral product lines, increased recycling rates, and energy- and water-efficient production processes. For designers, this translates to materials that unite aesthetic appeal with environmental responsibility.
With Éclos, Cosentino will also introduce a new material category in the second half of 2026. Éclos is completely free of crystalline silica, with at least 50 percent recycled content and a three-dimensional layered design that is also visible at the edges. At the same time, Cosentino is driving forward the digitalization of planning and visualization and intensifying its collaboration with creative minds worldwide: “We see ourselves as an innovation partner for the architecture and interior design of tomorrow.”
