Once again in 2021, the MCBW FORUM is the central meeting point for design enthusiasts as well as for the professional audience – and for the first time in this year's MCBW, it has been fully transferred to the digital space. A streaming studio will ensure the live streaming of events held at HFF. In addition, there will be campaigns and premieres happening in the outdoor area to be experienced individually.
This is how we open the MCBW FORUM to the outside world in 2021. The video installation DIS CONNECTED by the Munich-based animation studios MOTOMOTO & Uber Eck will virtually rip open the HFF's façade at the corner of Gabelsbergerstr. and Barer Str. with a spectacular take on this year's main theme "Shaping futures by Design".
The MCBW Infopoint is available in 2021 as a digital chat directly on the MCBW website. However, visitors can also request information during the entire MCBW week as usual by phone or e-mail. This way, the next digital event visit can be planned conveniently from your home office at any time. The Universal Design pop-up oursuperstore invites visitors to browse and shop for socially responsible design products in an online store.
All of the proprietary bayern design formats, such as the MCBW START UP Symposium, MCBW TALENTS and the Regional Partner Day with an event of the MCBW regional partner, the Lower Bavarian Region of Landshut, will be broadcast live from our studio at HFF and can be accessed as a free livestream on our website. The START UP exhibition "Design for Change" will also take place as an all-digital event for the first time in 2021.
MCBW DESIGNKINO will show a new design film every evening for 24 hours as a free stream. Two DESIGN KIDS workshops round off the MCBW FORUM DIGITAL.
The first MCBW DESIGNWALK is a curated walk through the Maxvorstadt quarter, during which visitors can listen to conversations with local store owners, designers and institutions on their smartphones and view corresponding window displays. The MCBW DESIGNWALK is addressed to the design-interested public and is available around the clock during the MCBW week from 6 to 14 March 2021. Point of departure is the MCBW FORUM at HFF. Just scan the QR Code and off you go!
Another first beside the MCBW DESIGNWALK is the MCBW POP UP: a glass exhibition container set up in the Museum Quarter, in which different international projects, cooperations and subjects shall be on display in future. In 2021, MCBW POP UP will be used by design austria, the Austrian design association, to illustrate among other things the manifold design-related ties between Austria and Bavaria.
