What is World Design Capital about? We'll give you an insight into our programme for 2026, and you'll also get refreshments at Drinks for Democracy if you answer a question.
Every two years, the World Design Organization awards the title: World Design Capital (WDC) to a city or region. In 2026, Frankfurt RheinMain will be the first German region to hold this title. What does that mean? WDC 2026 focusses on what potential design can have for society, for social engagement and for democracy.
We want to approach this question with a diverse programme of events. Last year, we received over a 1,000 project ideas from the region through an open call. We are happy to present a selection of them to you as part of munich creative business week.

We are excited to hear your thoughts! That's why we have developed the exchange format Drinks for Democracy, together with our cooperation partner Demokratiedeckel e. V. What is it about? Join us at Rennsalon, choose one of the simple questions on colourful beer mats and enjoy a drink.
