The futuristic flower sculptures "Fractal Flowers" created by artist Miguel Chevalier turn the spotlight on the role of nature in the age of artificiality.
The exhibition "Flowers Forever", to be seen at the Kunsthalle München until 27 August, features the artist Miguel Chevalier with his immersive work "Extra-Natural". Here, the artist poetically and metaphorically uses algorithm-based floral forms to connect nature, artificiality and digitality. He explores the question of what "natural" actually means as well as the relationship between humans and nature. Starting from his observation of the plant kingdom, which began in the late 1990s, and its imaginary translation into a digital universe, Miguel Chevalier has created various plants and virtual gardens. Complementing the exhibition at the Kunsthalle, four 3D-printed sculptures from the "Fractal Flowers" series will be displayed in a glass container in front of HP8 Gasteig during mcbw. Through them, Chevalier creates a bridge between nature, digital design and 3D objects. Illuminated with UV light, the futuristic-looking flower sculptures create a continuously changing viewing experience and represent an ode to nature. The different creations reflect our current world where nature is more and more controlled and conditioned, as well as the artificial life that has become possible.
