In cooperation with DOK.fest, two films will be shown at Lenbachhaus. The first film, "AI WEIWEI'S TURANDOT" will be shown on May 15.
The International Documentary Film Festival DOK.fest Munich celebrates its 40th birthday. For this anniversary edition, the Festival presents new film programme and top-class competitions.
In cooperation with DOK.fest, two films will be shown at Lenbachhaus.
AI WEIWEI’S TURANDOT

“I like to do what I’m not good at.” Ai Weiwei’s artistic vision meets Puccini’s Turandot. The opera questions norms and addresses social conflict. In a new production, it becomes a means for Ai Weiwei to focus on current tensions and to reflect on his own biography. “I like trouble. So I think opera is truly a trouble.”
The film will be shown in the original version with English subtitles.
