A workshop on the basics and principles of universal design with best practices and tools for everyday work.
In an increasingly complex and diverse world, the question arises: How can we design so that designs can be used by as many people as possible and facilitate their access, self-determination and participation?
This is exactly what universal design is all about. It is a design approach that aims to be accessible and usable for as many people as possible, regardless of age, ability or cultural background.
It is about avoiding barriers from the outset instead of correcting them afterwards. If you think more broadly and inclusively, you can create products, services and experiences that support a greater diversity of people - from children to senior citizens, from people with different cognitive or physical abilities to those from different social and cultural contexts.
In this workshop we will explain the basic principles of universal design and show how they can enrich your daily work. We will look at how these principles can be integrated into design processes without compromising on aesthetics, functionality or innovation. Instead, the workshop will show how universal design can be a source of inspiration rather than limitation.
