What is World Design Capital about? We'll give you an insight into our programme for 2026, and get in touch with us at our Workshop Truck and its interactive elements.

Every two years, the World Design Organization awards the title: World Design Capital (WDC) to a city or region. In 2026, Frankfurt RheinMain will be the first German region to hold this title. What does that mean? WDC 2026 focusses on what potential design can have for society, for social engagement and for democracy.

We want to approach this question with a diverse programme of events. Last year, we received over a 1,000 project ideas from the region through an open call. We are happy to present a selection of them to you as part of Munich Creative Business Week.
