The format invites you to explore in a playful way: What is nature really worth to me? Together, participants negotiate how we shape our city—and what price we assign to nature in the process.
What value do trees, water features, or drinking fountains have in the urban environment—today and in the future? And what if nature came with a price tag?
The participatory format from the exhibition “Stadt Land Fluss – Was ist mir Natur wert?”, curated by Sarah Dorkenwald and Karianne Fogelberg for the Rathausgalerie München, invites participants to explore these very questions together in a playful way. At its core is a large, walkable game board—a map of Munich’s old town—accompanied by a stylized ticket booth. Here, participants collaboratively and accessibly negotiate how inner-city spaces can be used and shaped—and what role nature plays in this process.
In the context of climate change and biodiversity loss, new models such as carbon pricing, environmental taxes, or revised fees for resource use are already being discussed. The format picks up on these developments and makes them tangible: from different perspectives, participants decide what value nature holds for them personally and for society as a whole—and what it should be in the future.
An invitation to think, play, and discuss the future of our shared urban space.

The event is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. As part of the application process, bayern design provided advisory support.
