Dr.-Ing. Andrea Benze is
full professor of urban development and theory of the city at Munich University of Applied Sciences, architect, urban researcher and co-founder of OFFSEA (office for socially engaged architecture). She researches urban regions, co-creation as (post) participatory urban development, demographic change, cultural centers as places of urban society and the inclusive city. Previously, she was a visiting professor at the TU Berlin.
She studied at the Technical University of Darmstadt
and with a scholarship from the DAAD at Bartlett, University College London, where she graduated. She did her PhD at the University of Kassel in city and regional planning with distinction and was a fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Her work is exhibited internationally.
