Carmen Maiwald

Carmen Maiwald studied clothing technology at the HAW in Hamburg, where she realised that she was interested in the stories behind the clothes. She then graduated from the German School of Journalism in Munich. Carmen currently works as a freelance journalist in Berlin, specialising in fashion, sustainability and greenwashing. Her research has been honoured with the German Journalism Prize and the Otto Brenner Prize, among others. This year, Carmen was voted one of the top 30 talents among 33 business journalists. Carmen lectures at the Technical University of Dresden and the Akademie Mode & Design (AMD) in Berlin on the subject of ‘Constructive Journalism’.
