Christoph Böninger designed the world's first laptop as his diploma thesis in 1982, which now stands in the Pinakothek der Moderne. For two decades he was an international design manager and managing director for Siemens. In 2010, he founded the furniture manufacturer AUERBERG. He is chairman of the iF Design Foundation and a trustee of Burg Giebichenstein University in Halle. He just published the white paper on the future of design teaching: "Designing Design Education."
