Elena de Kan

As Director for Workplace Design and Consulting, Elena de Kan leads Steelcase’s EMEA Workplace Design and Applied Research Consulting organization. Her teams in Munich, London and Cluj create impactful workplace strategies and design concepts for global enterprises.
Elena and her teams translate organizational needs & behaviors into holistic spatial solutions that balance human needs and strategic requirements. She holds degrees in industrial design and design theory (University of Applied Sciences Schwäbisch Gmünd; VU University Amsterdam).
Elena has worked at IDEO, Atelier 522, KMS Team, and Blackspace, before joining Steelcase in 2019. She believes in design's potential to improve lives, act responsibly towards the planet, and the power of stories, communities, and diversity.
