Gitta Connemann

Gitta Connemann is a lawyer and politician. She has represented the Unterems constituency in the German Bundestag for the CDU since 2002. In December 2021, she was elected Federal Chairwoman of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT).
Gitta Connemann was Chair of the Enquete Commission ‘Culture in Germany’ (2003-2007), chaired the Committee on Food and Agriculture (2014-2015) and served as Deputy Chair of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group from 2015 to 2021 with responsibility for culture, media, churches, agriculture and consumer protection.
In May 2025, she was nominated as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Federal Government Commissioner for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
