Hubert Aiwanger

Hubert Aiwanger has been Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and Deputy Prime Minister of the Free State of Bavaria since 2018. His core concerns are lower corporate taxes, reducing bureaucracy and strengthening rural areas. As the foundation of the Bavarian economy, he has a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. He supports small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, as well as the self-employed, whose innovative strength and entrepreneurial spirit make a key contribution to Bavaria's economic development. He has been a member of the Free Voters since 2001, became their state chairman in 2006 and took over the federal chairmanship in 2010. He was elected to the Bavarian state parliament in 2008.
