Jakob Runge

Jakob is one of the founders of TypeMates. He develops designs for customized fonts and takes care of project management. For him, type design is more than just the basis for precise and consistent communication: it is a passion. Jakob has been addicted to letters and type systems since his BA in Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg. At the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel (MA), his diploma thesis became a successful text font at FontFont. In addition to his work in design, Jakob is active in typographic education and leads numerous workshops at universities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. From 2011 to 2021, he was also a lecturer for typography and type design at Münster University of Applied Sciences.
