Juliane Wenzl

Dr Juliane Wenzl is a qualified illustrator and holds a doctorate in visual studies. She provides conceptual and organisational support for participatory cultural projects and values a collective and inclusive way of working. Juliane is a founding member of the Illustration Theory Network and researches the history and development of illustration as well as the use of images in plain language texts. Together with a blind colleague, she makes art and culture accessible to visually impaired people. After six years on the board of the Illustrators' Organisation, Juliane Wenzl has been supporting her association as an advisor since 2015. Since 2016, she has been a member of the board of the German Design Day, which she also represents on expert committees of the German Cultural Council.
