Manja Unger-Büttner

Manja Unger-Büttner studied integrated design in Dessau as well as philosophy, literature and cultural studies in Heidelberg and Dresden. In her freelance research and teaching on media and design philosophy, her main focus is on questions of ethics and aesthetics. The central theme of her lectures and publications is her development of an ethics from design - explorative ethics.
Ethics and responsibility, in other words, not in the currently common sense of prescriptive moralizing, but with a view to the transformative capabilities that (not only) design brings to the table. The VDID project group Ethics.Design is currently developing such a creative approach to the question of what we can want for the future, based on utopias/design futuring.
