Manja Unger-Büttner

Manja Unger-Büttner is a design philosopher and (meta-)ethicist - and sometimes also a self-confessed aesthete. She is a member of the German Society for Aesthetics (DGAE) and the Association of German Industrial Designers (VDID), among others. At DT, she is active in the Council for Education and Science, Design Teaching and Research and also in the DKR's Education Committee. After studying “Integrated Design” in Dessau, probably the most versatile design course, she went on to study philosophy, literature and cultural studies in Heidelberg and Dresden. The main focus of her research and teaching on media and design philosophy in Dresden and Berlin is on questions of ethics and aesthetics. The central theme of her lectures and publications is her development of an ethics of design.
