Maximilian Schöffmann

Metal Interior was founded in 2009 from my brother-in-law’s vision to reinvent the art of sheet-metal craftsmanship. His work-and-travel experience in Australia fueled ideas that I enhanced in 2015 with my passion for technology and design. My father, a visual artist, sparked my fascination for materials. One evening in our Vienna workshop, I discovered the magic of metal: every touch shaped not only the piece but also my perspective. We let surfaces breathe so they develop a patina and tell their own stories—rooted in the Wabi-Sabi philosophy. In 2018, I took over the company to continue on this path where the journey matters as much as the outcome. Together with our team, we constantly search for new concepts to keep metal alive.
