Melanie Wald-Fuhrmann
Melanie Wald-Fuhrmann is a musicologist. After holding professorships at the Lübeck University of Music and the Humboldt University of Berlin, she has been the Director of the Department of Music at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt am Main since 2013. Additionally, she is an affiliated professor of Systematic Musicology at Goethe University Frankfurt. Her current research areas include the history and theory of music and musical aesthetics, as well as musical taste and the experience of music in live contexts.
