Mirjam Kottmann

Mirjam Kottmann was born in Munich in 1974. After graduating from high school, she completed internships in regional television before studying journalism at the LMU in Munich. She also worked as a freelancer for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. After an internship at BR in 1997, she stayed there and became a freelance reporter for current affairs. Over the years, she has had numerous assignments abroad at the ARD studios in Rome and Vienna. Since February 2024, she has been part of the permanent team of presenters of BR24, BR's news program. She is the first news presenter in Germany to rely on a wheelchair. In October 2024, she was awarded the “Prix Europa” for her work and commitment - as “European journalist of the year”.
