Olaf Kranz

Dr Olaf Kranz has been head of Kreativ München, the City of Munich's team for promoting the cultural and creative industries, since summer 2022. A sociologist by profession, he founded a fashion label in Berlin in 2014 together with his wife, a fashion designer. He gradually integrated the topics of fashion, design, cultural and creative industries into teaching and research at the University of Regensburg. From 2019 to 2022, he was involved in an EU project researching the interaction between favourable framework conditions for the thriving development of the cultural and creative industries in medium-sized cities on the one hand and culture-led urban development through the management of site-specific cultural resources by the cultural and creative industries on the other.
