Dr.
Thomas Fischer
After studying cybernetics, Dr. Thomas Fischer completed his doctorate in cooperative innovation management of protective clothing. He and his team deal with the digitalization of textile value creation, for example in digitally networked textile microfactories, and the resulting questions about innovation, the circular economy, business models and sustainability. His work also focuses on knowledge-based systems, big data and AI in production, for example the classification of body shapes for better-fitting clothing. Since June 2024, Mr Fischer has been coordinating the EU research project BioFibreLoop (budget €6.9 million), in which biomimetically inspired functionalized and thus sustainable clothing made from renewable raw materials is being researched.
