After completing a cabinetmaker-apprenticeship, Tim Oelker studied product design at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts.
Since 2001 he has been running his own office in Hamburg & works for: Berendsohn AG, Deutsche Guggenheim, Deutsche Messe, Universal Music and Vestergaard. Since 2006, he has taught product design at universities & academies in Hamburg, Hanover & Berlin.
He was appointed Universal Design Expert in 2014, is a member of the Universal Design Forum e.V. & the Universal Design Competition jury. He is also involved in the Council for Sustainability of the Deutsche Designtag.
Currently, Tim Oelker is engaged with the museum in public space "24-7.museum" & the linking of the topics of care & digitalisation in a monthly video conference format: "first-tuesday.online".
