Tulga Beyerle (* 1954, Vienna) is the director of the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg. Its founding idea of using inspiration for the best design of the present and the future is also of central concern to her. Beyerle sees the museum as a space of opportunity and a platform for discourse and negotiation, preferably without thresholds, but at the highest level.
After an apprenticeship as a carpenter, Beyerle studied industrial design in Vienna and taught design history and theory. She is active in numerous commissions and advisory boards.
From 2014 to 2018 Beyerle was director of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Dresden, Pillnitz Castle, after she had previously co-founded the Vienna Design Week. In addition, she successfully worked as an independent curator in Vienna and Glasgow.
