
Christoph Böninger
Christoph Böninger studied Industrial Design in Munich and Los Angeles. After graduating, he moved to New York and built up the design department for Siemens in the USA. In 2000, he outsourced “Siemens Design” to form the internationally active design consultancy DESIGNAFFAIRS with offices in Munich, Shanghai and Silicon Valley.
In 2010, he founded the furniture manufacturer AUERBERG in Bavaria. His furniture designs have been included in the permanent collection of the “Neue Sammlung” as well as in other museums.
Since 2018, he has been Chairman of the non-profit educational foundation “iF Design Foundation” based in Hanover. In cooperation with the Pinakothek der Moderne, the foundation is conducting the “Design Curriculum of the Future” research project from 2022 to 2025.
