Friedrich von Borries

Prof. Dr. Friedrich von Borries (b. 1974) teaches Design Theory at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK). He operates at the socio-political intersections of architecture, design, and art. Together with Alexander Doudkin, he founded mindmind.ai, a platform providing diverse perspectives through AI.
"The focus of my work is the relationship between design and social development. As a researcher, I try to understand the world; as a designer, I try to change it. Hence, I use both research and design to engage with the structures, practices, and technologies that define our contemporary life."
He develops projects that enable people to discover, test, and sensuously experience new possibilities for themselves, their daily lives, their social interactions, and the world around them.
