After graduating from Ravensbourne College (UK) and the University of Duisburg-Essen, Linda Schmidt had the opportunity to set up and lead the Industrial Design department and later the UX Design department at ifm in an industrial environment. The focus was on the support and elaboration of strategic projects of different industries and brands, the introduction of the UCD process and the usability standard ISO 9241 as well as the collection of international user requirements through user interviews and their subsequent analysis.

She gave various lectures on the topics "I4.0- User 1.0", "Industrial Design for Capital Goods", "Major Project I4.0", "Usability Creative methods for everyday life", etc.
