Discover how biodiversity becomes an integral part of house architecture using Animal Aided Design.

Animals often have to leave for construction projects and it often takes years before the birdsong can be heard again in green areas. But if people and animals needs are planned together, living space can be created for both.

This is exactly what was implemented in Brantstrasse by the Technical University of Munich, the University of Kassel and Münchner Wohnen using Animal Aided Design (AAD).
There we find a woodpecker lantern, a hedgehog drawer and various facade nesting stones. Maybe during our one-hour walk we can marvel at the acrobatic flights of the first swifts of the year or hear the chirping of the house sparrows.
