HopfON is an innovative, interdisciplinary student project focused on developing sustainable, compostable building materials from hop waste. The team is developing circular building and acoustic panels, as well as insulation material, from hop harvest waste. The resulting climate-friendly building materials offer an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional building materials. Regionality and circularity, as well as research into alternative production processes, play an important role in the development of the products. With a strong focus on design and aesthetics, HopfON strives to create products that are not only sustainable, but also attractive to the end consumer. The HopfON team was awarded 1st place in the TUM IDEAward 2022.
