Christian Niederbichler

Christian Niederbichler has been the first and therefore longest-serving site manager of a Ramsar site (Ammersee) under the auspices of the Landesbund für Vogelschutz in Bayern e.V. since January 1997. The Ramsar Convention refers to the agreement on wetlands of international importance, in particular as a habitat for waterfowl and wading birds. The tasks of the site manager include the maintenance of fenland areas, mapping of Red List species, botanical species conservation measures, meadow breeding protection, monitoring, guided nature tours, supervision of senior school and bachelor theses as well as numerous co-operations.
