Hans Joachim Schellnhuber is the Director General of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Laxenburg, Austria. From 1992 to 2018, he served as the Founding Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). Since 2019, Schellnhuber has focused his scientific work on the transformation of the built environment and the climate remediation potential of regenerative architecture. He is the founder of Bauhaus Earth and a member of the New European Bauhaus High-Level Roundtable. Schellnhuber has published approximately 300 scientific articles and books in fields such as fundamental physics, complex systems analysis, climate change research, and others.
