Irene Burkhardt

Irene Burkhardt is a landscape architect and urban planner in Munich.

For a decade, she was a research assistant at the Chair of Landscape Ecology at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan, where she specialized in ecological model studies. She worked in the Department of Urban Planning in Munich. In 1990 she founded the office Irene Burkhardt Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning in Munich with ambitious projects on a local and international level.

From 1998-2004 she was Chairwoman of the Bavarian State Association of the Association of German Landscape Architects (bdla) and Vice President of the bdla from 2014-2023. She was a member of the Advisory Committee for Nature Conservation of the Bavarian State Government and is a member of the Deutscher Werkbund Bayern.
