Leila Behjat
Leila Behjat (Dipl.Ing) is an architect bringing expertise in material ecology and renovation with healthier building materials to projects globally. She understands the inseparable connection between a product’s level of carbon emissions and its health impacts as paramount to a sustainable future.
As Sr. Researcher at Parsons Healthy Materials Lab, she curates collections of healthier, low-embodied construction products and design methods to achieve regenerative, toxic-free spaces that will serve coming generations and the planet well.
Leila heads the Lab’s partnership with the New European Bauhaus with a hub in Germany. She is actively engaged in community building and learning about creating vibrant, thriving neighbourhoods. In 2022, she was also a Maintainers Movement Fellow.
