Tiia Vihand

Tiia Vihand has been Director and a Board Member of Estonian Design Centre EDC since 2017.
The EDC aims at increasing design awareness through promoting design as a strategic tool for solving societal challenges, increasing innovation, improving the quality of everyday life and creating growth. EDC supports the competence development of designers, and has been pioneer in implementing eco-design and circular design. As Director Tiia has been leading the Estonian design development plan in 2023. A graduate of University of Tartu (MA in Mathematics, BA in Law) and Rutgers University (USA, M.Ed. Educational Management, Educational Policy), Tiia entered the field of Design in 1997, at the time working a Vice Rector at the Estonian Academy of Arts. In 2008 she was one of the founders of EDC.
