From Vision to Impact:
Discussion and networking with experts from business and science on the role of design on the path to sustainability as a strategic priority.
It's not just the film-wrapped cucumber that has the problem of being apparently unecological, is it? Many everyday products, both in the consumer and industrial world, share this fate.
If product, material and raw material cycles are considered in their entirety, and user behaviour is also taken into account, such questions are by no means easy to answer. This requires awareness of the problem, expertise and the right processes. In a panel of experts from business, science and design, we would like to explore this and other questions with you:
What are "sustainable" products, and do they even exist? How great is the influence of design on the sustainability of products and ecosystems? What mindset and what processes are necessary to design products and services that are ecologically compatible and economically viable?
One thing is clear from all these questions: the role of designers is currently changing into an interface between economic and ecological sustainability. Because it is clear that the circular economy will only work and become planet-centric design if the majority of users also participate.
The VDID is looking forward to a stimulating dialogue over culinary delights at the Polestar Space in Munich. Our host from the automotive industry will also present its position on the topic of sustainability. Look forward to a great panel with us and join in the discussion!
