How can we rewild the city and reclaim public space?

We present approaches from Lebanon and Germany and develop a vision and a model (Part 1 of 2 events).

For life in cities, new ideas are urgently needed for the design of renatured, green spaces. Such spaces provide social and living spaces as well as recreation for people, animals, and insects, while improving the air and helping to lower the inner-city climate. Designing with plants and biodiversity can ignite processes for the creation of green, cultural community areas in cities.

In cooperation with the Professorship of Urban Design at the Technical University of Munich, students and interested mcbw participants will engage in a dialogue with committed experts from the fields of architecture, design, urban and landscape planning, MIYAWAKI method, biomimicry method, environmental activism, environmental education, and permaculture:

Felix Dietsch, Luzern, Berlin/POSITIF STUDIO

The international perspective from Lebanon shows ways in which greening, and a communal reappropriation of urban spaces can succeed under difficult conditions.

Together, a vision and a model for a collaborative urban greening will be developed in rooms of the Technical University.

With this event we hope to contribute to the creation of new ideas and new professional friendships and alliances for the design of greener, solidarity-based public spaces in our cities - in teaching, education, and creative practice.
